Leanne Wicks seeks to understand Place via connection, acknowledging more-than-human entities she lives with in Dabee/Wiradjuri Country. At her Capertee Valley Songlark Studio, Leanne takes intent, slow walks and her footfall on Country is remembered in the slow arts of eco-dyes, prints and textiles. She investigates natural dyes from her property, watching plants throughout the seasons, testing flowers, fruits, pods, leaves and bark. Leanne’s work has been shown at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, Warwick Art Gallery as well as the cementa and Vision 2050 (im)possible festivals
